How would you like to be a Textile designer?

What is this course?

This exciting NEW workshop is spread over two sessions. In the first, textiles print designer Katie from  KLB Design House will show you how to create a beautiful watercolour image  inspired by nature. Your image will then be transferred onto fabric so that in the  second session our Jen can show you how to make it into a finished cushion.

Who is this suitable for?

This workshop would be suitable for anyone who loves playing with colour and inks to create beautiful floral designs. A basic knowledge of sewing would be handy for when you come to create your cushion from your very own design. You  really  do  not  need  any  drawing  skills  to  achieve a finished  prouduct.  Even  a  paint  splash  could  become  a  repeat  patter!

What the workshop involves

The first part with be lead by Katie who will fill the studio full of beautiful blooms. She will help you to experiment with a variety of media including inks and paints to create your own unique illustration. Katie will then look  at  your   paintings  to pick  out  the element  you  would  like  to  be  printed  onto fabric.

The  follow  session  weeks,  Jen will guide  &  inspire  you to  embellish  your  fabric  using  free motion  embroidery ,hand  embroidery &  beads  make your newly designed cotton twill  fabric into a 40cm square cushion cover with a contrasting plain fabric to make an envelope closing.

We are running two workshops on each of the days so you can choose to come in the morning or in the afternoon  this  will  remain  the  same  for  both  sessions  booked .

What you will need to bring to the class

Just your creative mind  &  self  belief  you  can  do  this  !
