Always wanted to make your own jeans but daunted by the idea? Then this is the course for you!
Designed for confident sewers wanting to take their skills to the next level, you will learn how to construct your very own pair of jeans made to your own measurements in this great two-day weekend workshop with Sarah Fletcher.
We will sew the Closet Case Ginger jeans pattern designed for stretch denim. You can either make a comfortable low rise narrow stovepipe leg version or a high waisted skinny leg style with a tummy-slimming pocket stay. This pattern is very flattering for all body shapes.
Students will need to bring the following;
• 2.30m - 2.70m (45" wide) or 1.4m-2m (58" wide) of main fabric - Sarah suggests Stretch denim, twill or corduroy with at least 2% lycra.
• 45cm of cotton lining for pockets and waistband
• 45cm fusible interfacing
• Denim zipper - for the Stovepipe leg low rise - 5/6" dependant on size, for the skinny leg high rise - 7-8" dependant on size.
• Jeans button
• Topstitching thread and regular thread
• Rivets (optional)
Students are advised to pre-wash their fabric in advance of the workshop to allow for shrinkage.
Depending on your experience you may get your jeans completed. Everyone will get to the basting stage.
Sarah will be contactable after the course to answer any further questions.
